Well, I filled my last buck tag about a week ago, my 3rd deer of the year. Three is all I need for my freezer so I'm done hunting for the season. Some quick stats from my journal.
22 days hunted (whitetail)
172 hours in stand
14 days private, 8 public
73 total deer sightings
18 bucks
33 does
15 fawns
7 unidentified
3 deer harvested (2 bucks, one doe)
3 misses (all on the same day due to operator error!)
Shot my first deer with my 300 blackout and my first deer with my Winchester model 88 308.
I saw deer on all 8 days I hunted public land and 11 days I hunted private. Didn't see any of the big ones I had on camera, but did harvest a 4.5 yr old 6pt that weighed 181lbs. Now its time to thin out the squirrels and chase some grouse.
