Great story and yes the 243 and 6mm Remington are both great rounds that a deer killing machines! Pretty sweet to see her still be able to do what she did!
While it's not my favorite deer round for buck season I use it a lot during doe season when I can wait for everything to be perfect. It always does it's job when I do mine. This year a big doe fell to the 85gr Sierra Gameking at 276 yards in mine with no issues. If I was going to use it more for deer and less for coyotes I'd probably go to a 90gr Accubond. The little 243 is capable of a lot, probably more than I give it credit for, with the bullets we have today.
Great story! I'm a big fan of the .243 as well I mainly bowhunt but I wanted a caliber that would be good for whitetail and coyotes and the .243 fits the bill for me
