Idaho Panhandle Whitetail Help

My father and I are planning a DIY whitetail hunt in the panhandle, section 1, of Idaho this fall. We are coming all the way from Vermont in hopes to bag some big whitetails. We haven't hunted in Idaho before and don't know where to start. All we know is it would be nice to not spend most of our hunting trip trying to find a good starting point. I was hoping someone could point us in a good direction. Maybe some road names, or areas, or any kind of advise that would help us out. We love to hunt but didn't get pulled for our Montana tags this year so we thought it was time to give Idaho a try. We will be staying in Moyie Springs and where thinking of heading north into the big woods. Just not sure where to start. So many roads and log roads. Once again any help would be greatly appreciated.
