Hi all,
Has anyone had luck running another company's bag on a Stone Glacier X Curve frame? Which ones?

Thanks!

There is a pinned thread in the DIY section (also in my signature) if you want to look at prior builds. There are no "standard models" I custom sew bags to the design folks want. The last page of the thread shows the bag I just made for myself on the SG EVO frame. https://www.rokslide.com/forums/diy...stitching-rokslide-sponsor-9.html#post1011144

I've added frame slots to some other manufacturer's bags also for some folks.

Just an FYI, I'm in a series of hunts right now and trying to juggle those, life, backlog, inquires SO response time is a bit choppy right now.

I had a kuiu 1800 on my xcurve. I bought it used already set up that way. Looks pretty simple by just putting compatible buckles on the bag, ones with slots so you don’t have to cut and sew. That bag is small and wasn’t intended to slide over a frame so you would definitely want that mod done for anything bigger.

I would definitely recommend Pods8 for making or modify something.
Here’s the kuiu piggy backed on Pods8’s custom bag on my xcurve. It also went directly on the frame just fine.

I set my son up with a modified cuben fiber Zpacks Airplane Bag attached to a Krux frame for our sheep hunt this year. It worked out great. Approximately 4500-5000 ci, 3.5 oz. for the bag, and 100% water proof.

Thanks guys!

Troutbum, I remember following that thread on the bag for your son. That bag looks slick. Congratulations on a successful harvest!

SO a x curve wont fit say, a kifaru or exo or kuiu straight outta the box without some sewing modifications?

The two main considerations for a good fit on the SG frames are the frame slots that fit the top of the stays and the load lifter is on the outside of the frame slot attached to the bag and also they have some ladderlocs on the back of the bag that pull the bag down securely on the frame slots. If you want to just have a bag strapped to the frame with webbing rather than having the frame mounted to the bag then you could use whatever.

Some folks have told me they've used the older kifaru frame sleeve with the slots but were worried with a heavy load the SG frame stays might rip through the oval slots eventually (the kifaru frame has a wider bearing surface). KUIU slots are too narrow. Not familiar enough with EXO's setup to comment.
