Those who put a Kifaru belt on an ILBE pack..

Did you worry about not having the pockets for the stays? I got a Kifaru duplex belt, which after searching seemed like it would work. First thing I noticed is it didn't have the stay slots sewn in like the original belt that came with the pack. Should I have some sewn in or is it fine that the stays just rest in the one large pocket the Kifaru has? I am just worried about the stays poking through the belt.

I almost thought about getting a piece of aluminum to run as a cross brace between the stays, that shouldn't poke or wear through the belt either. Any thoughts?

I would recommend having webbing pockets sewn into the bottom of the belt. Or at least stitch through the two layers to create two channels for the stays to sit in. Shoot me an email at [email protected] if you have any questions or need some of our thread for the job.

I didn't worry about it. I don't use it anymore but, I have trained with 50 pounds in the pack since doing this with zero problems.

Isn’t the rig made by arcteryx? Bet the OEM belt from the Bora series would fit.
