OR Crocodile Gaiters Front won't stay hooked!

I have a pair of OR Crocodile gaiters which I really like. The only problem is that the small velcro tab at the front of the gaiter won't stay hooked and occasionally brush or sticks gets stuck in there and starts to pull the main velcro apart. Anybody have a solution for this problem?

I've never experienced the same issue with my Crocs but you could install a snap, they're super easy to do if you haven't done it before. It was so simple even I was able to do it pre-YouTube

That tab ends up getting cut off of mine. It wears out fast and the velcro becomes useless quickly. Sharp knife and it's gone.
