Hey everyone,
I'm new here, I read through the first 3-4 pages of topics and didnt see anything about homemade epic bars. Has anyone tried their hand at recreating them? Is it basically just a pemmican recipe, or completely different. If you have a video, a link, or a recipe, post it up. I have plenty of elk steak in the freezer I could use.

if you have a bunch of those laying around, i'll take them off your hands and save you the trouble of having to throw them away :)

I only had beef and bison...i tossed all the beef, it was that bad. The bison is just barely passable.

I tried a couple of pemmican recipes with melted fat and couldn’t find one I like.

I like to make ground meat jerky with spices and I sometimes throw in diced dried fruit or onions or peppers. I make it with very little, if any pink slat or preservatives. Dry the strips in a dehydrator then put them in pint zip locks that I freeze until needed. I take one on day trips or a few for longer trips. Not sure how long they would keep out of the freezer but they never last more than a few days to find out.
