I picked a quart sandwich bag of red currants on my way down from a ptarmigan hunt on Sunday (got one bird). I made three small jars of chutney (sugar, all spice, ginger, red wine vinegar). I tried a small taste and it was potent with the vinegar and sugar but then I put some on sliced elk roast and it was fantastic. It would be good on any kind of bird and probably good with cheese. Do any of you guys make anything with currants? They're fairly abundant and weren't too bad to pick.
