Nice job on the chair, are you using a 37" finished length? I had a inquiry about making one and mocked one up based on the dimensions I was told, it doesn't look quite as long as yours but it could be the picture or my treking poles might be longer than what you are using. Seems fine sitting in it though, I just wasn't sure if you added some length based on experience? I stuffed a strip of scrap hypalon in the peak of the webbing pocket to protect against the point on trecking poles.

Yeah definately a bummer on the machine issues hope that gets squared away soon.

Solid idea on the pouch to use the handles on the poles rather than the tips. Here were the slots on the mockup I made, I'd roll or bind the webbing edges on the next since just sealing the strands isn't quite enough when the sharp point of the trecking pole goes past it can grab threads. This one I tried just a hem on the outside edge as well to see how that worked.

Nothing new here but i saw the newest packs and really like the functional of them so i decided to do some DIY sewing.
I Ordered some K clips from kifaru yesterday so when i get them ill update the bag.Overall i add on the HC 7k a third compression straps,a inside mesh pouch, few molle(sides and lid.) and autolock buckles.4 molle on the back to put a belt pouch like the new pack, (Reckoning).SHTF credit here of course for some mods.I don't think ill made a center zip on it because i really like the way i use it with a medium spotter pocket on the panel. Why buying a new bag when i can do it on mine ? 😉 Now this 7k will be really versatile.Still work in progress:

I can run a lid if i want, i have two webbing straps on the back of the bag.So not good for round shape bottom,i end-up with a triangular shape bottom, not bad and a nice finish touch with a piece of leather for the zipper.
