I feel like this has been discussed before, but I couldn't find the old thread.

Has anyone mounted a lever adapter for pic rail to an outdoorsmans panhead?

My first attempt was to mount a 1/4-20 outdoorsmans adapter direct to stock forend, but the screw is too large. My next thought was to mount the 1/4-20 adapter to a B&T industries lever adapter (BT56-L - B&T Industries, L.L.C.), but that looks pretty bulky/heavy/expensive.

I know that I could always use the V-rest from outdoorsmans or a clamp type system, but i thought there might be another way.

I'm making this exact same thing right now. I'll let you know how it goes.

I put a pic rail on my gun, then mounted a $10 Amazon clamp with my adapter plate bolted to the bottom of it.

Nice. What clamp did you get from amazon?

Looks like a good setup. My adaptor that adapts to the other adaptor arrives tomorrow. I’ll post some pics when I get it put together.

Been looking for a good way to do this..ordered the bracket this morning. Thank you guys!

Now I just have to decide if I should just keep that little adapter in my bag and still run the normal tripod adapter plate on my binos, spotter, etc, or if I should leave the adapter on the tripod and switch everything to over to little picatinny rails..

My plan was to leave it screwed on to the rifle pic rail while hunting. Remains to be seen if it will interfere with sling. That way I can unscrew the bino adapter and slide rifle in quickly.

Tripod adapter is too bulky to leave on rifle buts it’s pretty easy to take on and off.

So I have a lightweight carbon tripod and a outdoorsMan micro pan head. I use it for glassing for Binos and spotter.

I’ve been thinking about wanting to mount a rifle on it. For my wife to use for hunting. Have 2 guns. One weighs 10 lbs and 1 weighs 7 lbs

Will the micro pan had handle this weight? Or do I need a heavier duty head?

I can’t specifically speak for your setup, but I recently did the same thing and am still in the process of refining it. I ended up picking up a Hogg saddle to attach to my slik 624 and benro S2 head, a pretty lightweight setup. I quickly found that shooting off it was not very easy. The tripod just couldn’t support it, nor could the head.

So I went out and bought a heavier duty tripod and a ball head for rifle hunts. Keeping the lightweight setup for archery and spotting scope use only.

My goal too is to build a platform my wife will be comfortable taking a seated shot off of. In the process I’m hoping it makes me a better shot for places where prone is not an option. There’s definitely a learning curve off the tripod. I ended up with an rrs anvil 30 ball head. Pretty sweet piece, will take a picatinny rain or Arca. It’s also pretty light for what it is.

Subscribing because I was trying to figure out a way to do this and then this thread popped up. How would one attach something to the bottom of a stock without a picatinny rail provision such as an HS Precision or Bell Carlson?

There’s a hand full of clamp setups that will mount to a tripod plate. Hogg saddle, rrs, there’s some other lighter weight options as well

I will have to do some research on the setups you listed. I'm not a fan of the soft clamp set ups and would rather come up with something solid mounting like zeroforhire. Also something that is interchangable to allow a bolt action rifle for elk/deer but maybe an AR platform for coyote hunting would be nice.
