Have a chance on a smoking deal rem 700 in 358 Norma. 400 and in lower 48 is it worth it ?

Hell yeah I say. Hell of a good cartridge for anything walking this continent. 250's from Swift, Nosler, Hornady, and I think Woodleigh makes a 275.

I've always been one to like unique things that the average guy and all my friends don't have, so yeah I'd buy it. I am kind of a fan of 35 rounds for that reason and for the fact that the big bullets just hammer game. I own a 358 Win and a 35 Whelen, but a 358 Norma Mag would be super cool. You'll def be the only guy in camp with that. Load it up with 225 grain Barnes and you're good for anything that walks around on this continent

I bought a pre-Garcia Sako L61R and rebarreled and rechambered it to a 358 Norma. Used a Lilja barrel as they have a factory profile barrel, but took it to 26". Have the factory front sight moved over. They didn't have factory rear sights at the time, they recommended the factory peep sight for the rear bridge. I picked one up on Ebay. Scope is a Leupold VX2 3-9x40 gloss black for a retro look. Magnaported the barrel. Stock is off right now being duplicated - keep the factory profile and increased LOP.

I’m looking to get one bad! I have a Remington 700 stainless BDL DM in 7mm rem mag that I’m considering having reworked into a 358 Norma. Don’t know if I can bring myself to do it yet as it was passed on to me from my late grandfather.

Hammer bullets just came out with a 358 cal 254 grain Hammer Hunter that should really make this round shine out to extended ranges.

I ve wrestled with that before. Hard decision. You could always hang on to the barrel if you decide to put it back to "close original".
