Matt over at Schnee's just sent this over. It's in pre-sale but scheduled to start shipping right away. Looks like a great option for late season. I'm not sure the difference between this boot and the Granite IV that Ross reviewed last year here, so Matt will chime in. He can answer any questions too.


Our Granite II Extreme adds another level of warmth to our most trusted and proven mountain boot. Featuring a full 600g of insulation, dual density midsole, flex-3 rated 7mm polyurethane chassis and 100% waterproof OutDry membrane. Finished with our custom compound Vibram™ Tsavo™ outsole. The Granite II Extreme is a serious boot built to dominate harsh terrain in sub-freezing temperatures.

Thanks Robby. The Granite II Extreme is very similar to the outgoing Granite VI, but there are a few differences. The biggest and most obvious being the leather. It is now similar to the Yukon Waxed leather used on our Granite II, but with a bit different finish for better cold weather durability. We've also upgraded the ball bearing lace hardware to a stronger construction. Finally, the Extreme gets our new Dual-density polyurethane midsole which is both more durable and more comfortable.
