Heal cup modification

I have a pair of Lowa Baffin Pro leather lined boots. The left boot fits great but my right one had a heal lift issue. I visited my local backpacking store, their boot expert narrowed the heal cup by dipping the plastic wrapped boot in hot water. She squeezed the heal cup down and had me lace up normally. I stood on an incline heals down and she applied pressure with ice packs to the outside of the boots in the heal area. The plastic in the heal was now molded to my foot. What a difference!

I hope this info is helpful for all of you with this problem.

Oh my goodness. Heel not heal.

You and your good idea ferries are crazy!

Just kidding.

Good info! How hot was the water? I’m familiar with boiling water and immersing a mouth guard in to mold it. Seems like a similar concept.
