I am a nut when it comes to waterfowl and i kind of want to know how everyone is doing across the states! Here in Colorado we have been putting a hammer down on the Honkers, Ducks have been not bad definitely a mixed bag most of the time. We just haven't had the weather lately to get the mallards pushing but would like to know how everyone has been doing!!!

I have yet to shoot a goose this year and only a handful of ducks early. My buddy's goose lease doesn't get good until we have some snow and I haven't ponied up for my own yet. I'm dying to shoot some mallards though. It's been quite awhile since I had a decent duck hunt. I'm planning on taking the dog this weekend to check out some Platte River swa's.

My hunting partner in Iowa says there are a stupid amount of geese around there now.

Going duck hunting this weekend for the first time this year. Reports have been really mixed, some feast some famine.

We're a little different. We get local mallards earlier in the year and wait for the wigeon, teal and sprig to show up from about Christmas on. Had a couple of good shoots two weeks ago and haven't been back out because of schedule and lack of wind. This Sunday is looking like a good day here though.

Got a few around here in the NW. Got out this morning and had one flyover. We ended up with 3 and some tired dogs! : )

We had some good populations of Mallards early but an Oct flood has left a lot of hiding places for them.I have a corn stalk field waiting for them but about the time the water freezes we get some 50 degree days.
Geese are consistent. The no limit lesser season coming up is always fun in the right field.

The last few weeks have been epic. We got cold just long enough to push birds in and it's been warm enough that that they haven't left. No end to the geese plenty of mallards.

Decided to give waterfowl hunting a try this year and shot my first ducks this week, a green wing teal and a mallard. I got to say, I will be going out a lot more!

Put close to 300 miles on the truck over Christmas and saw less than 20 ducks. The ones I saw were sitting around a thermacell.

Been a longtime dream of mine to bag a drake cinnamon teal. Next month, I'm gonna spend a little time hunting the Colorado River that divides Southern California and Arizona. I'm sure hope I can get lucky!

Got out today and I got my third duck, a gadwall drake. Other than that, it was slooooww. Hopefully the weather gets things moving around this week.

A couple things you may not now about know about cinnamen teal. I have had much better luck turning them with a hard fast mallard call than a wistle. If you get one be careful who you serve it to. They can get a little muddy tasting. Good luck.

We have (finally) seen some fair numbers of new migratory mallards arrive with the cold front over the past couple of days (Chesapeake Bay). Better late than never...
