I hear that seasons are drawing to an end out west. Our seasons here with the gun are just getting started. Had a great day out and about but activity is slow. Should be picking up soon with the change of the moon. Had a little snow up around 5000' this morning.

I love it man! It was spitting here at the house at 3000'. Windy as heck but it turned into a beautiful day. Stayed plenty cool but, it is the lull period. Next week its going blow wide open. Our rifle season doesn't start for another two weeks. Good luck.

Yeah it was totally lull where I was. Our rifle season is on the same schedule also. Modern inline with a scope is about as effective in my book. I believe I will backpack in tomorrow on a really good deer that I spotted in bow season the third week of October.

i did not hear a shot all morning in the valley i was in which is highly unusual. either that wind had them bedded down all morning or noone is hunting anymore. i haven't had time to even shoot my muzzleloader so i just sticking with the bow for now.

Slow down here in Dublin but my buddy killed a mid-day 8 pointer from one of my high mountain ground stands. Good luck out there.

God Bless.

I was out this morning and had a young 4 pointer walk right under me. I got him on video and after giving him a grunt, he got into a fight with a bush. He had long beams and will be a nice deer in 2-3 years. No problem uploading pics, but can't seem to get the video to upload.

Finally got one for the freezer. A good one for the freezer. This guy was massive. A decent rack looked pretty small atop this deer.

Good going. Congratulations. There may be more meat on him than the 3 doe I’ve killed combined.

God Bless.

Nice job. Not to many places in Virginia above 5000’. Impressive hunting. I went to Virginia Tech. Loved driving through the mountains.

Looks like all of the 5000' peaks in VA are within a few miles of each other. Mount Roger's, Whitetop, Buzzard Rock, Wilburn Ridge, Pine Mountain, Thomas Knob and Haw Orchard Mountain. All of which I have been on at one point.
