Starting load development this week and on my 300 Norma and wondering if anyone has any game killing experience with 208 ELDm's? I'm thinking either these or the 225's.

the 200 fps with the 208 would be nice for quick shots..

Following. I’m waiting on a 300 Norma improved and had plans of 215 Bergers or 212 ELD-X’s, but the 208’s also have their allure. I’ve read lots of positive things about the 208 A max on game, but no personal experience. The .284 caliber 180 ELD-M also looks like a real wind cheater, but I just can’t get myself to bite on the M’s, when I’ve seen the ELD-X bullets work so well.

Tagging in, I'd like to know for a 300 WM. I know lots of guys used the 208 Amax successfully with WM's.

Only reports I've seen on 225's was that they were a little too explosive which is a shame with that high BC. My Norma rarely gets fed anything besides berger 230's. I figured 215s/212s would be moving a bit fast to be ideal and the 230's shoot fantastic. <-- none of this is worth much as it has only killed paper and steel.

Shot my bull with the 225 ELDm's, I ran the 230's prior. I'll put in through a couple more elk this year and let you know. The initial testing was well perfect bullet performance. Through the shoulder joint quartering to me, buried on the last rib on the opposite side at 400. Running 2915 MV out of my Norma.

im running them in a 300 win. have taken several deer sized critters out past 700. after not getting the performance out of the 215 berger I switched to these and im glad I did. load development was a breeze and consistency has been spot on too. im running them at 2996fps with single digit es/sd from a 26inch brux 10twist. so far all deer are drt with exit holes.

What issues did you have with the 215 Bergers?

Awesome, look forward to hearing more. What is your load? I settled on 230s behind h1000 @ 2940 fps with a 27” barrel so yours sounds like it is very similar.

I just couldn't get the accuracy I was hoping for. My es/SD were all over the place. It was a real bummer because I was really hoping to get them to live up to my expectations.

Forgot to add this photo. This shows the onside shoulder or entrance side. You can see the bullet did not open upon impact but rather expanded once inside the animal.
