My wife got me a 22” Weston butchers saw. It looks way bigger than what I need. I’m thinking about returning it for the 16” version, which looks easier to handle. I’ll primarily use it for shanks. Any advantage of keeping the bigger one? I’ve been using a standard hack saw.

If you split an elk pelvis, 16" will give you bloody knuckles. I'm typing this with bloody knuckles!

It's nice to have a long cut stroke, but if you're ONLY cutting shanks, it's likely overkill.
