Zeiss Conquest HD 8x32 - best all around binocular?

I have to agree. The experienced members on this forum are a great help when trying to decide on the right gear. Someone said that besides your rifle, bullets, boots, and binoculars are the most important hunting gear. Congratulations on your choice and good luck spotting elk in Colorado!

    Fluid head for the proletariat

What tripod did you mount the Ulanzi U-190 to, and how is it working out for you? I've read a lot of positive reviews on the Sirui VA-5 fluid head but would rather spend under $100. After your write up, I tempted to try one of these cheaper China specials. The pan head is quite stiff on the...

Zeiss Conquest HD 8x32 - best all around binocular?

That's good to know. I've read several comments on another forum that the Conquest HD 8x32's have a larger "sweet spot" that I take to meaning a larger area that is clearer before it gets fuzzy towards the edge of the field of view. As soon as I find a compact chest harness pack, I'm going to...

Zeiss Conquest HD 8x32 - best all around binocular?

I've only had a chance to briefly look through a couple pairs of Swarovskis at a local event and they were the clearest binoculars I've looked through. I imagine the CL's are pretty darn good as well.

Zeiss Conquest HD 8x32 - best all around binocular?

I briefly looked through a pair of Zeiss SFL 8x40's at a local hawk watch, and they're very nice glass but unfortunately out of my price range.

Zeiss Conquest HD 8x32 - best all around binocular?

I'm going to keep them. I appreciate you sharing the comparison you did with those quality binoculars. I've already used them in my backyard viewing deer and birds nearby and find them clearer and brighter compared to three pairs of auto-focus Steiner binoculars I own. This is the first pair...

Zeiss Conquest HD 8x32 - best all around binocular?

I appreciate you sharing your experience with the Conquest HD 8x32's. I already have a pair of Steiner AF 8x30's that I've used and have good results spotting game. The Conquest's are a step up in optical clarity and brightness. I found a deal I couldn't refuse and will be keeping them based...

Zeiss Conquest HD 8x32 - best all around binocular?

Newtosavage, Are you still sold on the Zeiss Conquest HD 8x32's? I bought a new pair at a heavily discounted price from SW and am debating whether to keep them or return them and pay significantly more for a pair of Conquest 8x42's. Since I didn't get drawn for anything this year, I'm going...

Alpha glass “ownership” experience - and a rehash of “is it worth it…”

I've read positive comments about the Meopta B1 Plus 15x56 and own a couple of Meopro scopes. I'm debating whether to get a 15x56 with more FOV or go for a higher power in an 18x56. The Mavens and Razor UHD 18x56's seen pretty comparable with the Maven's having fluorite glass in the objective...

Did you compare the Mavens to the Vortex Razor UHD 18x56?

Alpha glass “ownership” experience - and a rehash of “is it worth it…”

What about Steiner binoculars? I have had several pairs of the AF Steiner binoculars and have been happy with their performance. Maybe Steiner aren't alpha glass but they're good quality and a good value. Steiner makes an AF and center focus in a 10x. I'm thinking about getting some big eyes...

    Tract Toric 15x56

I have compact Brunton and a Japanese made Cabelas spotting scopes that I seldom use and am thinking a pair of high power binoculars might make glassing more enjoyable and productive. I've read that AK prisms are found in more expensive binoculars and let in more light. I'm considering the...

    Tract Toric 15x56

The Athlon seem to be a good value but made in the PRC is negative for me but the price reflects that. Are you keeping the Maven 18x56 bins, and what's your overall opinion of them? Thanks and have a good one!

Did you have a chance to do the comparisons with the binoculars you mentioned?

WTS Made in Germany Steiner HX 15x56 Binocular only $999.00

I spoke with one of the your representatives and was told you only have the Steiner HX's in stock for now. It appears that the Steiner HX's have a wider field of view then other competitors models in the 15x56 power. I have some time due to my hunt being over and can wait. Any opinions on the...
