    Truck Topper for camping

I replaced my 13 f150 with a tundra, simply because Toyota dealers have double cabs with 6.5’s on dealer lots. I didn’t feel like special ordering from Ford or Chevy

Moving to Missoula, MT… bad idea?

I think that trajectory is true everywhere these days. Everything I do in Arizona I compare to 30 years ago and get depressed. I think you just convinced me to move North. At 52 I might not live long enough to see it ruined from my newcomer perspective .

    Are City Firefighters Overpaid?

That’s interesting. In my area I hear that it’s incredibly difficult to get in to a fire Dept unless you’re connected. Based on that I’d say they’re overpaid. Why as a taxpayer should I pay more than it takes to fill the position? If your market can’t find enough people to fill the jobs then...

Upgrading Trucks Tundra, Gm, or f150

Me too a few years ago before it was a known issue. Unfortunately it cost me the $50 after paying the first mechanic $2kish for a turbo and the second $500ish for some sensors. I found the issue on YouTube right before taking it to a dealer to dump.

    Tall Harley riders

I agree with the adventure bike post. The tall seat and resulting leg room are a big comfort advantage even to average height riders. They’re excellent for touring, fairly quick on a twisty road and can still handle light to moderate dirt. I’m on an Africa Twin just because they’re so cheap...

Mazatzal Wilderness? * Now with a trip report! *

It’s raining right now in the valley. Not sure what the snow level is this time.

Truck brands actual MPG vs sticker

I’m doing better than the sticker, exactly 21mpg, over the first 5000 miles in my new work truck. Silverado 1500 4x4 with the 2.7. Mostly highway and I don’t drive it particularly fast. I wouldn’t buy one with my money though. The dash already has a rattle and the audio randomly shuts off...

Which Half ton Pick ups are yall driving?

That’s the engine I’d have picked if they gave me a choice. $1500 more up front, and basically the same mileage, I suspect it would save a lot of repair bills over the years.

Which Half ton Pick ups are yall driving?

I’m not generally a GM fan, but I’m liking the 2023 Silverado 1500 my company sent me. I’ll get back to you on reliability, but the 4 cylinder is nicer to drive than I expected. It feels a lot like my Dads ecodiesel, decent bottom end power in any gear. I’m at a little over 20mpg over the...

    Schnee’s Quality Control Issues?

My first pair had that toe crease pain shortly after I got them. I loosened the laces right at the toe for a while which minimized the issue. Wasn’t too many miles and they broke in. 4 years or so later and no problems. The second pair I bought doesn’t seem to do it, but I probably have less...

    Politics in high school sports

I can only speak for the program I coached in. We didn’t look down on anyone playing multiple sports. That said, a football guy that missed the summer and fall camps had to know that we didn’t play without someone at “his” position. When he came back in the Spring he had to take the job from...

    Politics in high school sports

That’s about the best advice anyone could give the OP.

    Politics in high school sports

I’ve coached Club and High School baseball and have a son who is a senior and signed to play at a D1 next year. I’ve yet to meet a parent, including me, who is able to objectively evaluate their own son. If you truly believe that it’s politics holding your kid back, you can look into a...

Need a new truck- no clue what direction

I’ve hated Chevy since my 2005 Duramax experience. The truck was bad, GM’s attempts to avoid fixing it were worse. That said my company just sent me a 2023 Silverado 1500 and it’s pretty nice. I don’t know what we paid, but the sticker was higher than the OP sounded like he was looking for.

    Dual Sport accessories

It comes down to how much dirt you ride vs street and where you want to compromise. I use less aggressive tires on my Africa Twin because I ride the bike the hardest in twisty roads and want traction there. Off road I’m more conservative on that bike and deal with the limitations of the street...
