Who leaves the stove at home?

Try the infamous peanut butter, bacon, and honey sandwich. When vac sealed, it's good for a couple of weeks. It's over 1000 calories, packs well, tastes great.

30* EE Revelation 750 Down Quilt going to be warm enough?

I used a EE 30 deg revX last year in Oregon with similar temps, lowest around 27 or so. I wear merino baselayers and a beanie. I was cold but I attribute a lot of it to my original neoair that I was using then, I was cold from the ground. I'm hooked on the quilt but don't want to be cold so I...

    Sat phone/InReach etc

Buy an Inreach and send text. Just make sure your packer has a phone that will be on the cell network to get the text. I used to rent a sat phone and went to the Inreach 3 or 4 years ago. I really like it but always back up the text to the packer with another text to a bud that's at home and I...

    2014 golite shangrila 5

Still worth every penny. It used to be over $500 before they changed their model and advertised it as 50% off retail. I bought mine right when they started that deal and it was $262, a number that I jumped on but was sure that they would not be able to sustain that low of a price point. In my...

    Kifaru Nomad User Reviews

Given an assumption that the planned use of this bag is to drop camp and keep hunting with your nomad in daypack mode, I would be concerned that the dwr coated 500d would not fare well in a downpour while sitting on a rock or similar. I agree about waterproof zippers and their use but I like...

The camp bag looks like an awesome solution to storage between the wings of the nomad but I just can't get past the fact that it isn't waterproof. I'm going to make my own version of it with some coated nylon and waterproof zipper. I would have already bought one if it was waterproof. my 2 cents.

I've got the #4 lock and load and it fits well between the wings. My 3L bladder fits in it with room to spare (geigerrig)

    XTL Lid and Nomad

Personally, I like the g-hooks/k connector conversion. I have my BT2 converted to them and really like it. My grab it and longhunter lid are both converted. All of those attach loops sewn into the nomads back panel are quickly used with the k connectors. I received my nomad a week ago and...

    Rain covers for Kifaru T1

Won't leave mine behind. Like said earlier, come here to the PNW and you'll see why. You won't like 500D that is soaked through. It's cheap insurance for around 3 ounces. Check z packs and bearpaw wilderness.

I bought 8 web dominators so for my nomad which arrived 2 days ago (foliage). Highly recommend them on the long straps that come across the wings. The nomad is sweet, a great addition to my bikini frame quiver. My DT2 might gather dust.

    Nomad/High Camp water bladder pocket

Great call, I'd have bought it when I ordered if it was in the lineup. I bought the lock and load #4 on your advice, I'm sure it will work well.

    Trekking poles & Shelters

I wouldn't say you're overthinking it. I would say that it all depends on the scenario. The first couple of times I used my SL5, I used my trekking poles lashed together as the center pole. This left me without a trekking pole while hunting out of that camp. Bummer for my trashed knees when...
