It might be a little on the large size, but I love my Kuiu Venture 1800 for a lightweight comfortable daypack. I use it for early archery whitetail as well as shed hunting and feel like it’s the perfect size and weight
Have you looked at the osprey katari packs? You could run without a bladder and keep a bottle in the side pocket. They have the day lite pack which is a little larger but the side pockets are useless for holding water bottles so I got rid of mine
I did about 50 miles of shed hunting a few weekends ago in the Kuiu brush pants through a ton of briars and I only had one small spot where the material pilled a teeny bit. I usually use the standard wrangler outdoor pants and they’re pretty much shredded after the season. The brush pants don’t...
My one gripe with the jacket is the collar. Even if the hood isn’t up the collar is still in the way and I have to fold it into itself to keep it out of the way and get a good anchor.
Seems like you had a similar experience with sizing too. All the reviews I found said to size up but I was...
I’ve only taken the Exped out once since I got it a couple months ago but I had no issues touching the ground sleeping on my side. It’s also a comfortable pad but I think my regular insulated tensor feels a little better
For me the waist on the attack pants is a little on the snug side. I wear a 30/30 in the wranglers and they’re perfect. T he attack waist in a 30 short is a bit tighter but they loosened up a bit from wearing them. I want to say it’s just for the attacks though since the Kuiu brush pants in a...
Been using them for years and they’ve been great. Hiked in with some 200g beartooths and midweight wool socks and put these on once I got up in the stand. Threw in a hand warmer on top of each boot and sealed it up and my feet were nice and warm into the teens.
I’ve been using the Alpz Little Bear pack for turkey hunting, but it should work pretty well for what you’re looking for. It’s got pretty decent capacity and has shoulder straps that can be unclipped if you don’t need them as well
I usually just make sure the Nalgene or whatever bottle I’m using doesn’t leak and then just store it upside down overnight. If it does freeze a little it’ll stay at the bottom of the bottle and the cap won’t be frozen shut
I love my shale gloves, but durability was a huge issue for me with the merino coming apart and having to repair the stitching on the fingers. Still debating getting another pair myself, but I find myself using the Mechanix Leather fastfit gloves more nowadays. Cost-wise I can replace them a few...
I don’t have any experience with the Ridgeline, but I’ve used the Ferrosi hoody for years to cut down the wind while still being able to go through brush without getting shredded and it’s held up perfect. I started using the FL corrugate guide jacket as well last year but can’t say yet which one...
