2023 Kentucky Elk hunt

I hunted that unit 2 years ago. It was very tough public land hunting. Most of the elk are pushed off into private lands. I hunted for 3 days and saw 1 small bull. I ended up hunting the wells and van buren area and saw the bull on the norther wells area. It’s been two years but it looks like...

Agreed. It is a heavy, loud, kicking machine, but I do love it and it shoots very well. Buying bullets is another story, being that they are about $100 a box. Luckily I have quite a few that I had purchased over the years.

I actually went down a rabbit hole in my Brian about that before. I was thinking the same thing. It is mostly the percussion of the Bullet that kills the thing it hits. ( my wording may be messed up on that.) And the energy delivered from a .338 bullet would be plenty without expanding. Either...

Single bevel 125 grain iron wills. I was thinking of getting the iron will hybrid hunter vanes, just for the simple reason of them being the same company and matching.

The whitetail I had shot had actually less damage than any I have shot with my .450 bushmaster. Thanks for the responses. I love the gun so wanted to just get some input from those who have also used then.
