    Scope mounting loctite or not?

Agree, I wasnt saying the no loctite was the way. Just sharing the proposed rationale of why the rings dont need it. Sorry havent read all posts, it may have already been stated. I dont buy the argument of them being wet and damaging scopes. The manufactures dont want you using it because of...

    Scope mounting loctite or not?

Ive heard the argument that on rings, since they do not touch or “bottom out”, there is constant force pulling the top and bottom away from each other. This causes the screw and threads to have a constant, equal contact negating the need for loctite to fill the gaps between threads. Im not an...

    Turkey leg recipe?

Put it in a crockpot with your choice of seasonings/marinades and cook on low until falls off bone. Usually around 10 hr for me. I like to pick it off and shred up to make bbq sandwiches or tacos. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Scope mounting loctite or not?

The reason they say not to use it is because they get tired of warrantying or consulting with customers that strip their screw heads out trying to remove them after using loctite. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Boot selection is driving me crazy

I wouldnt let the flat foot bed necessarily hold you back. Try the boots on with an insole (i like superfeet) and see how they work. May need to jump up a half size to accommodate volume of insole. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Career Change Thoughts?

Shaving 30 minutes off of your commute each way gives you about 250 hours of extra time with your family each year if you work 5 days a week. That is over 10 days worth of time not spent “working”. Just food for thought for anyone considering their career choices. Sent from my iPhone using...

    Boot squeak

I would get the wax off, then treat them with a leather conditioner. Once that is dry/soaked in then apply the wax. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I can't take the time to aim.

I put my finger behind my release trigger during draw and move it to on the trigger once im half way aimed and steady. I mainly do it not accidentally rip an arrow off into no mans land. But it would be impossible for me to shoot until i move my finger onto the trigger. Just do this and dont...

    Sabbatical Ideas

Haiti looks like a neat place to visit…there are some unique dining experiences available. In all seriousness, with a young family, I think Florida would be a great place to spend a month. Good mix of access to beaches/relaxing activites, nature adventures and destination spots. Sent from...

    The Shoot2hunt Podcast

It all makes sense on a flat range with two hands gripping a gun. Very easy to manipulate a safety I’ll give you that…no reason for someone to have trouble manipulating one. If you are in a fight with a bear (or human) in close retention rolling around on the ground, shit happens. Scenario-hear...

Yes, hence the “safely manipulate” part. That includes loading/unloading, holstering, moving it from storage location a to b, etc. None of which require a safety to do safely. If I wanted to nonchalantly walk around in the woods with it loaded and in my hands, a safety would make sense.

Yes, to either safely manipulate it or to shoot something. Neither of which requires a safety. The reason they are on rifles is because when moving, you carry them around slung in the open and the trigger area can snag on things. This is a non issue with a pistol that is in a holster, so a...
