Do you bow hunt during gun season?

I used to hunt with whatever season it was. Archery early, then muzzleloader, then rifle, then late muzzleloader, then late archery. As the years progressed, I hunted early archery, then moved to muzzleloader, and rarely would pick up my rifle, then late muzzleloader, then archery. Lately...

What is your favorite backpacking pillow?

This might sound stupid, but my kids got me a couple of these critters for who-knows-why and they are the PERFECT camp pillow for me. You can compress them down to about nothing, but they loft right back up and gave me the best nights sleep in the backcountry I've had in years. Of course...

    Elk broadhead

Strickland Helix. Love the thinner point up front, single bevel does a great job screwing around inside the animal, and they fly like darts for me. Pretty decent heads

That why they put a band-aid in each box....:ROFLMAO:

Heel slip - traditional methods are not solving it. Need boot recs or unconventional methods

Meindl has a number of backcountry boots with a more narrow heel pocket and wider toe box for just the feel you are looking for. Might also be worth a look if you have not already made a purchase.

Best Elk Hunting Boots With Minimal Break-In For Early Oct. Elk Hunt

I've been trying different high end backcountry boots for 3 years now and all of them, even when starting the break-in in April or May have killed my feet once I hit the high country. It's mainly how the boot fits my foot. That being said, I used to buy the Cabela's Ultra-lite hikers from...

    Broadhead straight?

I have found that my Strickland Helix heads look like they have more runout or wobble than say a NAP Thunderhead, but it is like you are thinking, the chisel point is not dead center due to the offset, so they can appear to have more wobble than a pinpoint straight head. But I do have those...

    Mathews phase4 29&33

Shot the Phase 4 a few days ago. Not a huge improvement over the V3X. If I had purchased a V3X, I would not upgrade to the Phase 4, but since I don't have a V3X, I ordered the Phase 4. Lots of chatter on this bow, lots of claims too, but the bow felt good, shot nice so I placed an order...

    Broadhead tuning sucks

200 spine. Uber stiff, but I can get them to fly perfectly with this 60 pound bow.

    Broadhead tuning sucks

Yeah, makes me wonder just a little bit that the riser may be slightly out of spec as well. I have been trying to rule out each thing as I can, and I was down to the possibility that the riser could be the issue, but it seems like it is okay as best as I can check it.

    Broadhead tuning sucks

I know this in old thread, but I have been struggling some with one bow this year, and I normally can tune these bows up with no issues. I have two 2021 PSE Mach 1's set up at 60 pounds, RH and 29.5" draw. I'm shooting 200 spine Kinetics and with both bows, I tuned the first one in the shop...

    Suggestion for broadhead tuning

Sounds like you just need a little broadhead tuning to tweak your setup so they both shoot equally as well. How do either of the broadheads fly when shot with field points? Does your field points and broadheads hit the same POI?

How many miles ya got ?

206,000 Ford 2012 F-250. Motor totally locked up, just ordered a new one. Now to figure out what caused the old one to go from running perfect to locked up on Interstate. I suspect a recent repair, but won't know till we pull the old motor.

    NAP Spitfires

I always had a decent sized entry, as if the blades flew back as the ferrule entered the body of the animal, enough so that the entry wasn't the full cutting diameter all the time, but plenty enough to give a good blood trail. I always had great success with them.
