I live in NV and I really like the First Lite wick hoody and the stone glacier Avro hoody for August. I actually wear these pieces year round but in August they work great as my only layer in the heat of the day.
I can spot shots just fine with my regular t3x 6.5cm. You shouldn’t need the CTR in my opinion. I wouldn’t go above 6.5cm recoil if you want to spot shots without a muzzle brake though. My rifle weighs about 8.5 lbs total.
I would vote for the bigger pair. Mine are a pretty loose fit and I like it. I can wear them with one pair of socks medium weight socks or a liner plus heavier socks in winter. Works for me.
How long have you been a hunter? I honestly don’t mean this in a condescending way, I’m just curious based on your position.
I hear you but I disagree with you about compromising. I do not think the animals rights or anti hound hunting crowd would do the same for us and therefore feel that we...
Care to elaborate why you support this? CA banned hunting bears with hounds several years ago. You would be crazy to think they won’t move to ban bear hunting completely before too long.
This is one of those issues where even if you don’t personally support hound hunting it would behoove you...
I have two griffs. One gets the stink (we call it fish butt) and one doesn’t. Same diet and both are females. Like someone else mentioned you only need to squeeze on the exterior of the B hole, no penetration. I have seen it shoot out a foot or two from my old pitubull. Definitely need to cover...
One of my dogs needs it done every few weeks and my old dog needed it occasionally. It’s gross but pretty darn easy to do. Just get some gloves and I hold a paper towel over the area.
The trackers are the only minimalist boot I’ve tried but my everything else shoe is the Altra lone peak for the last 3+ years and I really don’t like them off trail with even zero weight on my back. I haven’t packed out an animal yet with my trackers yet but I have carried a 45lb pack on and off...
I feel like off trail is where they shine. I’m on my second season wearing them for big game and Chukar hunting. Only issue I’ve had is lack of waterproofing if it’s really really wet.
Not necessary but sure is nice if everyone in the group has their own. It’s a pretty minor expense for what you get in my opinion. But I also used mine year round, not just during hunting season. We spend a lot of time year round outside of cell service.
