Convince me to spend more $ on a scope

Had absolutely terrific experience with an HST. Fell off the truck and down a steep hill ( kids), but held zero and tracks perfectly. Been super durable and accurate. I wouldn't buy Vortex at anywhere near retail prices, but at 50% off they're great bang for your buck.

Tipi vs Trekking pole style tent

Tipi style all the way if you can only have one. I make my own, so have a closet full of options. I almost always reach for the pyramid or tipi though. Nothing beats the ability to stand up, and they're so nice with a stove when it's colder. I can use my trekking poles ( with a hitch), but...

Any BC residents on the forum?

I would be interested in hunting BC for moose and elk. Lots of experience and success back pack style hunting. Could not commit to anything until after the draws down here. ( End of June). Very experienced elk caller.

Free bump, and would you consider a partial trade for Sig Zulu 9 15x56? I've been wanting to try out the 18x vs 15x.

Thoughts on the new Tricer AD tripod?

I have the Tricer LP on one of my Slik 624's, and the trusty VA-5 on the other. Love the weight of the Tricer, but end up adjusting the tension constantly as I go from level to steep glassing angles. They both have their place, but the VA-5 definitely handles 15x56 Binos better. Other than...

Best bino magnification range for mule deer

Tripod first and then some quality 18x56 Binos if you still have money left. Can't beat the Slik 624 from S&S in my opinion.

Have you ever gone too light?

This will be my 28th year elk hunting, and most of those have been backpack hunts. I've made almost every gear mistake possible, but here's a few that stand out. I like to go super lite, but after many suffer-fests I don't go unprepared anymore. 1. Too little food. We were three days into a...
