    Christensen Arms Mesa opinions

I sold rifles for the better part of 8 years in a large retail store. Tikka's have always been hard to beat for the price point and I absolutely despised CA for almost half the time I was selling them. When they started building their own actions and stocks they really turned their sh*t...

    CA accuracy problem

I would eliminate as many variables as I could before I sent it back. I would start with the scope. Slap on one that you know is G2G. I'd pull the action/barrel and make sure everything is clean and then I would retorque. Check free float hot and cold. I've seen far more shooters than...

    Muzzleloading Wannabee - CVA Accura LR-X .45

OP. My two sense for your situation is to grab an Accura .45 and put a quality scope on it. The ELR 285 push with a max load will stabilize just fine and I have seen several sub 1 inch guns with this setup. A scope using a reticle out to 300 would be pretty easy and if you want to shoot...

    Muzzleloading Wannabee - CVA Accura LR-X .45

I've shot the ELRs through 4 45 cal CVA and had great results. They do seem to tumble or do something wonky somewhere past 550 but inside 400 they have been very consistent for me. I have heard of a lot of the early guns key holling but I wonder if people aren't pushing them hard enough. The...

Sig Kilo8K ABS and Gunwerks BR4 RF Field Review

Sigs website isn't great at explaining all the features of their RF. I'm curious if the Kilo can switch back and forth between the near range/far range like the Gunwerks does. I really liked that feature on their original rangefinder. I also like the idea of how stream lined adding a wind...

    Properly Sealing Blackhorn Charge

May be late to the game here but I had good luck with the new ELR powerbelt in CO last year. I hated on powerbelts for years but picked up a leftover tag last year in CO and didn't have the time to put into a gun. I actually got sub MOA groups with that bullet at 100 yards w/ a scope. I...

The benelli folks love to hate

I have shot a few of them on Demo days next too several other O/U. I.e Beretta, Browning, Ceasar. They point and swing super well. May just be magic beans but reading and listening to the reps the action design is very interesting and the first major divergence from the John Browning friction...

Tried on my own - fail. Scope bases for Weatherby? Help.

These should work? Is this what you tried originally? https://warnescopemounts.com/product/weatherby-mark-v-standard-matte/

    Stiffer or softer boot? Help!

Lots of people have issues with PU midsoles that you are going to find on the lowa tibet. PU is more durable and absorbs shock better than an EVA but EVA is softer and may help you foot pain. I'm also curious about pack weight, how much you weigh, and if your body is normalized to hiking 6-7...

    1000-1500$ rifle scope

I've had great luck with all 3 of my VX5s but many on this forum have called in their durability. Great glass, good eyebox and I really like the locking turret design. I have a z5 w/ a BRH on a Sako 7 mag that is fantastic. Glass is better on the z5 but their turret system is lacking IMO...

best bang for your buck reliable, dialable, hunting scope

I have heard of people on this forum having tracking issues with the Leupold VX5HD but I have 3 of them and have yet to have an issue. One on a 300 Win mag, one on a muzzy, and one that plays musical rifles. They don't track IMO as accurately as a nightforce SHV but are light and better glass...

Support Idaho’s Gov on newly signed Wolf Reduction Bill—easy!

I fall in the same boat as you. Time off for me is precious between work and a young family. 2-3 week long hunts is really all I get. I always purchase a wolf tag when I'm hunting Idaho but never have spent the time and effort I do for other species. I also didn't start hunting the west...

Support Idaho’s Gov on newly signed Wolf Reduction Bill—easy!

Clearly a heated argument even within our own ranks. I somewhat side with the slippery slope argument and would hate to see Idaho turned blue and have this method used against us. With all the people complaining about IDFG I question how many people who obviously care about this issue have...

    Briksdal sizing

Briksdal SF is a narrower fit but it needs to be narrower as it's stiffer. When you get into more technical terrain you really need this style of fit for the boot to perform properly. My guides are generally more comfortable due to the fit difference but I can do more with my Briksdal.
