Well, feel free to get out from behind the keyboard, round up 6 pairs of boots and put in 100s of miles on each pair then report in.
I addressed mileage in the video and conceded I couldn't speak to long term reliability until I had several seasons on them.
Did you watch the review, or just wanted to get a quip in? I specifically addressed this in the video. If you have 100mi on 6 different pairs of boots, feel free to do your own review.
Timely discussion. I just wore my Crispi Guides and Hoffman Explorers back to back this weekend, chukar hunting. I basically always get heel slip, something I'm resigned to, I use leukotape and manage best I can. As in my review, I don't try to give recommendations on boots as we're all...
Still waiting on that YouTube money 😬
I get a bit of heel slip, especially the left, with my Kenetrek Mountain Extremes that I do not get with the Hoffmans.
I have Crispi Guides and just picked up Kenetrek Mtn Extremes but don't have enough miles to fully compare. I did a review vid of 6 boots that may help compare. I will say the Crispis were very easy to break in and I don't have heel slip issues with a narrow heel.
Thanks. I like my Lowa’s for sure, but like the Hoffman as well. I feel like they’re not as well known but they’re every bit as good as the other brands
I just registered but have been around this site for awhile. I just put together a review of a fair bit of mountain hunting boots and figured it would help out a lot of guys here as it covers many of the boots I see covered in this forum. Hope it can help answer questions for guys.
Boots...
I have a pair of uninsulated Guides, I'd say if you need boots with a bit narrower last look at the Schnee Beartooth as I found it narrower, possibly the Hoffman Explorer. I just did a review of boots I've worn try to help with these questions
I have tried every lacing technique and still have issues with heel slip, found that the best thing for me is just wear Leukotape. If you're looking for another boot, I found the Lowa Tibet is close to same fit as a Crispi Guide but has a wider tow box.
I just did a review that may help. Crispi Guides, to me, were fairly light flex. Only pair of mountain boots that I've had that were lighter flex is a Hoffman Explorer
