I’ve seen bears from the trailheads at 9000ft and above tree line at 12000 ft in September in unit 43. I was in the East Snowmass creek drainage last September on a goat hunt. I didn’t see any bears or sign.

I hunted the East Snowmass creek drainage last September. The Snowmass ski area side of the drainage had a load of goats. Willoughby Mtn had goats as well. I ran into 5 other tag holders in this area. Lots of hikers on the trail.
I drew my Co goat tag last year so I bought this book to learn more about goats and behavior over the summer. It really added to the enjoyment of having the tag. It kind of extended the hunt for me. They come and are gone so fast. I’d be happy to send this book to anyone who has a hunt booked or...
