    Whisker Biscuit for elk/western hunting?

I used a WB for years then switched to a drop away. I was shooting a 5 spot league and 23 targets in I had all 5's and 18 x's when the rest did not fall and it stripped a fletching and missed the target completely. I put the WB back on and have never looked back

Oregon Tioga Green Dot Road Questions???

Not sure about Tioga but the green dot system in the cascades does not start till the rifle season in mid October. All roads are open unless posted otherwise. We had similar issues in sled springs this year. The maps clearly show which roads were open but a guy was mad because we parked on a...

    Bugle Reports.

I spent the weekend scouting unit 34 in New Mexico for my upcoming muzzy hunt. Bulls were vocal till about 8 am then quiet till around 6 pm. Rut was not in full swing. I glassed several bulls that were talking but had no cows and did not appear to be searching.

    Unit NM Elk

That sounds good. We might have Arizona plates by then. We will be in a White F-350 and a outdoors RV toy hauler.

    Wyoming outfitter, landowner, DIY battle!

Jimss, Would you please share which High demand units have no NR tags because they all go to land owners first?

    Unit NM Elk

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I really enjoy traveling to new places and this will be my first year of hunting while retired. I lack the patience it takes to be a true trophy hunter. I have killed several 320 bulls that measure 280". I see that the success rates run between 50-60% so...

    Unit NM Elk

Just found out that I drew the Muzzleloader tag for unit 34 in New Mexico. I found the tread from last year and looks like guys did well and had fun. Anyone care to share their experiences with me? I currently live in Oregon but I am retiring next month and moving to Arizona. I will get to make...

First time Mule Deer Hunting in Utah

I drew a popular unit a few years ago. The roads were crowded but if you hiked over a ridge it was not bad at all. Our hunt was the early season that was only 5 days so skipping opening weekend was not practical. The crowds did get smaller through out the hunt.

    Wyoming deer/antelope combo?

According to gohunt it is a good unit. I suspect they are right, it takes 7 points to draw

    Wyoming deer/antelope combo?

Glass for muleys early and late and chase antelope mid day. It can be done. With two weeks to hunt I think you could do both. I would hunt the deer first. When you get wore out the antelope days will feel like a day off.

    Burned area

The area we deer hunted last year was scorched two years ago. We found some deer in the area but no elk. There were lots of elk hunters too. I asked a elk hunter why there were so many elk hunters in a area that seemed to have no elk. He told me the area was good before the burn but they had...

    Colorado point creep survey

yes, I had 13 and my buddy had 12. When we checked the draw report 13 was 100%, there were a few people with 12 that did not get a tag

    Colorado point creep survey

The unit I applied for took 13 points to be 100% as a NR. We averaged 12 and got lucky. This unit took 7 points last year for the 3rd season hunt so it jumped 6 points. We had a fun hunt but with no weather we did not find the better bucks. Killed a 160ish buck on my 5th day in the unit. I can...
