yeah, you too. depending on what drainage your taking in and if your camping by lakes the fishing is very good in those mtns. i think goats like the smell of fish too. and they like red licorice. and urine.
the guy im hunting goats with this year has been in there a couple times recently, its steep and we need some rain. lots of goats skipping around though. dont forget your fishin pole.
i also drew this tag this year and have been in the area. lots and lots of goats. tuff country. i will be going as early as possible, most people who wait for hairy goats end up not being able to get in due to snow. lots of very slick rock. bow hunt em before the elk rut.
i sold a martin dream catcher for 250 and have been seeing quite a few of them around for up to 350. definately agreat bow to get going on. 50-55
# max to start though. +1 on the stalkers from south.
for you guys looking at the aluminum riser-carbon limb recurves, take a look at avianbows.com, ive been shooting one of the prototypes for 3 years and it is unbelievable, smooth, fast and accurate. and made 100% in montana i think, which is a good thing.
furthest is about 15 yards an muley buck. closest is feathers on rest when broadhead hits hide, 5 point bull this year. get in on em fellas. i hunt and shoot with a guy that can hit paper plates at 110 yards 3 out of ten times with a 65 lbs. recurve of his own making. but considers a 35 yard...
you guys are messed up. there is something wrong with you. i just got my T2 yesterday and its been loaded and unloaded about ten times already. come on weekend.
speaking of cats, i was sitting in my stand last nov. for hours with no deer coming by,(i hate tree sitting) so i decided to go for a walk and saw something that looked like a yote coming twards me so i ducked by a tree and got my recurve ready to shoot it and a baby mtn lion jumped up on a log...
otc in my back yard! living in nw. montana is the best. constantly into elk and maybe idaho if i tag out early. in the bob marshal you can hunt with a rifle sept. 15 on otc tags and that is pretty fun. and tuff. i am really starting to like this forum. good job guys.
going solo this year for mulies and elk. tired of doin all the scouting alone and then dragging out of shape friends to the high country so i can do all the calling and spotting. maybe its a bad attitude but this is serious stuff and it takes year round commitment, and they aint willing to...
