Hi ya'll, I drew the second archery for 6a this year and was hoping to get some last minute suggestions on where to scout. The area I hunted before was near my buddy's house but it's since been closed due to fires. I guess I'm specifically looking at hunting the northern side of the san pedro...
I don't fletch them on that jig but know several guys that do. Seems like a great setup tbh and you may get a slight drop in FPS but it wont be much at all to really care. Like maybe 2-3 max if I had to guess. Make sure you're grouping and you should be fine. I recently added more helical to my...
I have a very similar setup. 27.5" draw at 70 lbs dw. Last year I ran axis 5mm 300 spine with a 50 grain half outsert and I thought it was too heavy. My speed was 262 fps but there was quite a bit of curvature to the trajectory that I didnt like. This year I've been practicing with 340's and a...
I brought the 400's in to see if they would buy them off me and help me shorten my 340's. They saw how many 400's I had for when i was shooting 60lbs and suggested I use those instead of spending money on more arrows. And yeah they said it would give me a lot more speed which they thought was...
I'm very skeptical about this working too @Lowg08. I'll probably go back to my 340's just so I don't have the thought of an arrow splitting on release bugging me. I guess the question now is will a broadhead tune translate between a 400 to a 340? I left a 400 spine arrow with them
That's basically what they told me. They took my bow and showed me the center shot was slightly off so I left it with them to fix that and broadhead tune. I use 100 grain heads and standard 16 grain hit inserts on my 400 spine arrows.
Sidenote, my 340 spine arrows are 450* grain not 350.
My draw weight is 70 lbs and draw length is 27.5". I'm hunting elk this year and was running low on 340 spine arrows, so I went to my bow shop to get more. They talked me into using my 400 spine arrows instead of my 340's since I have more of those already on hand. According to several of them...
It is hard for me to believe I hit the back strap but I don't know elk anatomy well at all. After I took the shot, he ran slightly downwards and around the hill and gave me a full view of his right side where I could not see my arrow hanging off his side at all. With the way it sounded I thought...
the arrow appears to have gone through him, although it stayed inside him for about 100 yards before it came out. The broadhead was nowhere to be found. The side visible in the video is the entrance wound.
As the title says, I shot a bull in the first archery season but was not able to recover it. However, I was able to find him about 27 hours after I shot him and he was still alive. I did not bring my bow as the initial blood trail led me to believe he was no longer alive and I also brought my...
