Big binos are my preference as well. I have Meostar B1 15x56 and they are great. Much more comfortable. I do pack a small spotter as well when extra mag is needed, but for long glassing sessions, no question I use my 8.5x42 Swaro EL and the 15x56.
Killed elk at almost 600 yards with a 3.5-10x40 scope. I prefer a light scope and more handy rifle. Some scope are so big and bulky to me. Friends have 4-14 or similar scopes and have found that they rarely need the full power.
Killed my cow a week or so ago at 3.5x on my Leupold at 278...
I preferred both the Cabelas Krotos (Athlon Ares) and the Maven CS.1 to the Gen 1 65 Razor. But it was "picking fly crap out of chili" quite honestly. I could have been happy with any of them. I did like the dual focus of the Razor better. But the Maven and Krotos were sharper in their...
Agree wholeheartedly with this comment.
CMF, make sure you get a bino/tripod attachment and begin using your binos on the tripod. You will find it is way better then hand holding. I am always amazed at how much easier it is to see things when I do this. I shouldn't be amazed any longer...

Swaro used will be great. For new, I wouldn't hesitate to go with a Maven B2 or a B1.2 in the size I was interested in. Used the B2 9x45 for years and years. Really good bino. I got a deal on some used Swaro ELs I couldn't pass up on and "upgraded". I will be honest, my Maven B2 was soooo...
I love this. So impressive to have the forethought to go through the steps properly and yield a beautiful result. I have one beautiful Walnut stock on a Model 70 that I refinished years ago. Made me love it even more. But boy my patience wore thin on that project. I can't imagine doing what...
I have the original Colorados, Guides and Nevadas. Colorado's fit my feet perfectly, stiffer and overall my favorite. The Nevadas fit a little bit sloppy to be honest. Both are same size, but the Nevadas are definitely a little wider. The more I wear them, they are fitting better, but I...
