I have thought about it. Especially since I live in Ohio now after 40 years in West Virginia. So I do eventually need a straight wall cartridge rifle. I am waiting to see if Henry will make the 360 Buckhammer in their All Weather line. I can use my in line 50 cal muzzleloader or borrow my...
I could try that again. My Dad and I let it soak in something similar before for hours, but no luck 🍀. I have thought about taking it to a gunsmith and having it cut off and rethreaded with a thread protector. Then eventually get a brake or suppressor if I kept it.
Haha never heard of it put...
Yeah I tend to over explain everything. Sorry.
I believe that my Dad tried that since it use to be at his house before my wife and I moved from an apartment into our own house.
I have a Savage Model 110 Long Range Hunter in 300 WSM that I bought new in 2019 mostly as a compliment to my late 90s Savage M110 270 Win LH wood 🪵 stock rifle. Something that I could use out west with confidence on any of the species from moose 🫎 if I could ever afford to apply and get lucky...
Is it the lite unthreaded barrel or more of the Roughtech fluted and threaded version? I really want to make a lefty Tikka T3X threaded 300 WSM based rifle.
That would be a huge bummer, I know in Idaho that was a nice little protein lift and a fun time chasing grouse when we couldn't find mule deer. Wyoming can definitely be confusing with their different species season dates.
Thank you 🙏 very much. I pray that I get to do it. If I can only go for a week I will just go for pronghorn and do some grouse hunting and fishing if I tag 🏷️ out early. Might apply for a $34 doe pronghorn in a different unit or the same one not sure 🤔 yet.
Thank you for sharing this intel. Depending upon if I get a new job or stay with the one I have I want to take 14 days off work for this. It’s a two day drive from here to the border of Idaho if you do 15 hours one day and 13 the next.
That is a good point. I just was thinking if I wait too late for pronghorn that they might be pressured into the private property. I know that they don’t shed their horn sleeves until November or into the winter months.
For my first hunt they don't have to be Boone and Crocket, I am looking to learn have fun and bring home some venison and great memories. Maybe later on I will focus solely on getting a 4 year old or older mule deer buck, but not for my first western big game hunt where I actually have a tag...
