    This Texas Hill Country 6.5 year old warrior read the script & made the deadly mistake of standing still at 25 yards. Double lung shot with a clean pass-through, he ran 80 yards before falling over & meeting the cast iron.

    Several others have said it, but i'll reiterate- the smaller the backpack the better. We tend to fill up a pack because we "might need it" and end up packing WAY more than needed. Go minimal & you'll enjoy it more.

    Vest recommendation-Early season Texas

    Buy whichever one is the most quiet and makes the least noise when you move (draw back). I dont own either of the ones you listed above, but the Sitka looks quieter and I hear great things about their whitetail set up.

    We're in an on-going battle with cedar in the Hill Country of Central Texas. Its amazing to watch the native grasses & forbes come back where a big water-robbing cedar once was.

    Non-standard tips to share....

    Dont carry the cheap water bottles (case of 24 for $4) in the stand. They pop as the temps change and are crunchy in the pack. Use the thicker Smart Water type bottles or Nalgene instead.
