    Yamaha or Honda ATV Recommendations

I don't think you can beat the Honda for reliability. I know you didn't mention a SXS but I would encourage you to check out the Honda Pioneers. I have a Honda ATV but rarely use it since I bought the Pioneer. It is so much more comfortable and more of a workhorse than an ATV with the bed and...

2024 Tacoma- anyone bought one, drove one—thoughts?

I recently bought a 23 for my son and drive it quite a bit. I like it pretty well but hoped the 24 would have more room in the back. A small adult can barely fit in the back seat. I will stick with my F150.

    Cheaper Lithium trolling motor batteries?

I have a new boat that should be ready in a few weeks. I spoke with builder and he recommended a single Ionic 36V battery to run my trolling motor. I went to see him and he had the new battery at his shop ready to be installed. This one battery is lighter than a regular deep cycle battery which...

Aspens in SW CO Around October 1?

I have always flown into Grand Junction for my hunting trips and planned on flying there for this trip as well. I checked air fares and it is actually a little cheaper to fly to Gunnison for us so that's where we are going. It will save a little driving too.

Aspens in SW CO Around October 1?

I am taking my wife this year as well. Plan to fly to Gunnison and go to Crested Butte and then Ouray/Telluride. Probably will arrive Sept 28. Should be just about right for timing based on what I've researched.

    Inexpensive warm weather gear

Bass Pro has a lightweight line of clothing call Grid Lite designed specifically for warm weather. It is very thin material that has tiny holes in it similar to football jerseys when I was a kid. I have these and they are pretty nice. I couldn't imagine anything being much cooler when it is hot...

    Turkeys not Gobbling

There is nothing worse than spring turkey hunting as if you were deer hunting IMO. The sitting and waiting game is not for me. I would just go home and hook up the boat and go fishing. I guess if I had to try to kill a turkey when they are not gobbling, I would set up in a field and put a decoy...

Ford 5.0L V8 vs EcoBoost: High mileage experience?

I have had two Ford F-150's with the 3.5 EB engines. They are great and have awesome power. The gas mileage is pretty good as long as you stay under 65 mph. Seems to drop significantly when you drive over 65 or pull any sort of trailer. When I pull my horse trailer or boat, it gets 9-10 mpg.

    Hot Sauce Recommendation?

I like Tiger Sauce. It is good stuff. It's not very hot and a little sweet.

Any College wrestling fans as we head into the post season?

I tried watching the ACC championships last night and was hoping VT could have won. I must admit that it was just about the most boring thing I have ever tried to watch. Do they ever actually pin an opponent any more?

    fish recipes

Walleye is as good as it gets with freshwater fish. I have a simple recipe that we typically use for mahi that would probably work well for walleye. Take a sleeve of Ritz crackers and put inside a ziplock bag and pound the crackers into the consistency of bread crumbs. Then add about an equal...

    DC/Virginia area Question

Virginia is easing along under the radar nationally. Hope it stays that way.

    DC/Virginia area Question

I would say that hunting in Virginia would be superior to any state in New England. We have some surprisingly good quality deer in several parts of the state. Turkeys are plentiful and there are too many bears. Tons of public land in the western part of the state. I wouldn't live near DC for all...

Warmest mid layer hoody for us thin blooded guys?

Some of the pieces I wear as a mid-layer depending on the hunt are Sitka heavyweight hoody, First Light Kiln, Kuiu Strongfleece 260 hoody and Kuiu Kenai jacket. When it's really cold and I'm stationary, I wear the Sitka heavyweight hoody as a base layer. It is a great, versatile piece and...

    Atlantic Flyway Blues

I think you hit the nail on the head. I guess I will just go on a 3 day hunt somewhere west of here once a year and be happy. I'm certainly not going to continue put much effort into it with diminishing returns around home.
