Are the bags coming with the heavy duty 1" buckles and 1" straps now instead of the 3/4"? It looks like it from the pictures but I can't tell for sure.
I have used both. I give my SO frame and belt the nod over Kifaru in comfort. Their belt is great imo. Both have hauled everything I've put on them which was up to 80# in each. I have goshawk, lid, and merlin. I also don't like the merlin layout but it does work well as a compression panel.

For humanity as a whole, yes it's good news that this thing isn't as deadly as being pushed. For those doing the narrative pushing, no it's not good news and needs to be buried to never be seen again.
It's only noisier when you are getting in and digging around your bag and especially in cold temps. Otherwise walking in brush i have noticed not more noise than cordura.
I've had all 3 and SO is my favorite. It is the most comfortable under all loads for me. I've carried 20-80# with the SO and Kifaru. I carried up to 50# in the SG and it just didn't fit right for me. What I like about the SO over the Kifaru (Duplex Hunter and Bikini) was 1) more comfortable belt...
Lumbar made all the difference for me. I started out without and when i was testing heavier loads i got pain in my upper glute area. I added the lumbar and the pain went away. For my money it's the most comfortable carrying pack I've used with the lumbar pad.
