I had the same issue with when I was looking at these boots. I called Crispi before I ordered and they confirmed the wide would like work. I bought a half size bigger and wide, and they're perfect.

This. The mud around here in the PJ is awful. It clogs up tires and doesn't easily come off. I've clogged up high end "med terrain" tires in the nasty-ness. Four chains is a requirement. The good news is, that get easier the higher you go. Up above about 9k feet, the rocks seem to help. Getting...

I don't think you'd want to stay on any of the valley floors. Way too much time lost in driving! Best option is to bite the bullet on a tent and camp. It'll have loads of driving time. I have a 14x18 wall tent from Davis Tent and Awning that is nearly bulletproof. I think I saw on their...

Snow in The Flattops

Sure you can! Google "snotel Colorado." That brings up the snow telemetry sites across the state. There you will get a bunch of Intel, chief among it is current snow depths. I can see the southeastern part of the flat tops from where I live, snow fields are pretty much gone.
