Mule Deer range in Texas
Not very east. For the panhandle I wouldnt go east of Childress. There’s some big deer around Lubbock but not as many deer as other parts of the state. Then in far-west tx/ big bend I wouldn’t go east of Sanderson or fort Stockton. -

Gravelly Range Elk Hunting
My group has killed a bull (should have been 2) and 2 mule deer out of there. We weren’t covered up in elk but stayed after it and got some opportunities. It’s hard to get away from roads. Greenville Texas
I from that area. In terms of Schools, think you would prefer to be in Rockwall. Royse city schools have improved but Rockwall has the best schools in that area. Greenville is the extreme eastern edge of DFW (some may say it’s not even DFW at all). If you go E, N, or S it’s pretty rural...- huntertx

Texas hill country
North of San Antonio is beautiful country. Like everyone has said above, you'll have to pay for a hunting lease, but there are leases for every price point. Most leases are year round so you can hunt deer, hogs, turkey, dove, and duck (depending what area you're in).- huntertx

Idaho or Colorado for diy elk
Personally I would do idaho otc. But note there are 1st rifle tags in Colorado you can draw with 0 points. At least in those hunts hunter numbers are capped and there aren’t deer hunters in the field generally. Colorado is the default for most people driving west to hunt elk. I hear Idaho... -

Wyoming Unit 45
Would you recommend unit 44 over 45? There is less public land in 44 but it seems like the public may be more accessible...at least the public that appears to have antelope habitat.
