Most likely there won't be any non-resident elk tags left over after Aug 1st this year which will be the first time since they started that in the mid 2000's. I'm going to attend some meetings to see if we can get that pushed up to June or July 1st but I'm already planning for the worst by...
Both Kuiu and Skre have lifetime warranties. I have had them both replace items free. Skre paid the shipping round trip. Skre's rain gear is lighter duty then Kuiu Chugach. I haven't been wet in either one but the Kuiu is heavier duty.
We hunt August 1st every year for my dads elk and we run a generator and freezer for about 8hrs straight in the back of the truck from the time we shoot one until the time we get home.
I guess if it was a concern a call to Jetboil would be in order. I bought my MSR stove already and don't need another. I went off a friends advise that I trust. If they aren't yet hide from it to customers it's one and the same to me. Why hide who you are for sales? Kind of dishonest if you ask me.
The Skre stuff is decent. They are 200 and are on sale quite often for 20% or so off. They are lighter weight then the Kuiu Chugach but still pretty decent stuff. I've been in a few pretty decent rain storms in mine.
I have filled my second tag every year I've had one but last year and I could of shot a raghorn on opening morning but I was trying to wait to see if we could shoot two at the same time since my hunting buddies brother hadn't ever killed a elk in ID. They all walked over the hill before we saw...
That is not always the case. Some trails allow the use of dirt bikes to transport your camp in and out but not to hunt off of. You would have to call the correct forest service to ask about the specific trail your wanting to ride.
We shot .22's and the guides shot .25's. They also had 10 round rotary mags versus ours being single shots. The bigger cals kill better but need recharging faster too. Might need to rig up a backpack for a scuba tank and pipe it directly into the gun. :D
