New guy here from Madison, MS. I’ve hunted/fished mostly in state up until the last few years. Planning my first western hunt for 2022. Looking forward to learning a lot from folks on here, thanks for having me.
For those interested in habitat management - Natural Resources University has quite a few podcasts across a few different conservation topics.
Also, the new Bear Grease podcast is really enjoyable. Clay Newcomb is a great storyteller.
I’ve got an old cookbook from my grandfather that has some raccoon recipes in it, every single one notes to remove musk glands/nodules and parboil for some amount of time. Would be willing to try once though
I’ve hunted in both Dixie Deer blinds and Redneck blinds over the years (never owned one personally). They seemed be well made as each time I’ve used one they were not new but still in great shape.
I’ll second this recommendation. I run the catalyst through the entire whitetail season in MS (when it’s cold). Just vary my base layers underneath and I’m good to go. They are surprising durable from my experience. I’ll be using mine for their 4th season this year.
Planning a trip this November to North Central KS (Lake Waconda area) to hunt pheasant. Looking for any outfitter recommendations for guided pheasant hunts. Will be starting the trip off with a guided trip and will hunt some public ground the last few days. Any advice or recommendations...
I’m looking at a hunt in the same area for 2022. Found San Juan Outfitting in Pagosa Springs while searching online. Curious to hear about them or any others. Following this thread now 👍🏼
