    Rain Gear for Haul Road Caribou Trip

    I did the same hunt and wore the Sitka dew point rain gear and it was just fine. It’s very lightweight. Quartered up 4 caribou from our group wearing it so I didn’t get blood on my other clothes and it held op just fine.

    It’s possible to do it, but it takes some time getting back to the 5 mile mark with the ponds and creeks you have to cross and go around.     We did this hunt in 2021, if you plan on bow hunting my best advise is to still pack in 2-3 miles. The caribou were a lot less skittish the further from the road you got. You will have no other hunters to deal with either. We would just kneel down and they would circle us at 70ish yards often...
