I’m putting together my collection and the only two things that I’ve pretty much settled on are FL Corrugate Foundry pants and SG gaiters. I’ve heard great things about the SG SQ2 gaiters but curious to hear your thoughts on the pants. How’s durability been for you?
FNG from central MS. Grew up hunting whitetail and squirrel, hoping to get into western backcountry hunting at some point. Learned a lot already from these forums!
Very cool that you were able to mix up brands like that. I'm looking into a SG 40/56 and it's good to know that a Kif 22Mag will be a possible option with the SG frame.
Check into GORUCK. You might be able to find one without MOLLE on ebay as they used to make them with the SK (slick) and SD (shadow) designations. I have several GR bags and really like them as EDC.
Thanks for all the good info. Makes sense that you would go into the woods either with or without the base layer legs and then add / remove the puffy layer depending as you go rather than trying to add or removed base layers mid hunt.
Definitely gives me a lot to think about and consider...
Thanks for the info. Like I told jd1006 I was leaning more toward SG because I heard that FL was having some durability issues but I'm assuming that has mostly been remedied now.
Congrats on getting out there man! I have a similar background of southern whitetail with hopes of getting out west at some point. Have a great trip and let me know how it goes!
