    Snowshoeing

I don't think they are as mountain capable as the MSR shoes but for most of the places I go they work fine. And yes they are pretty light.

    Snowshoeing

I'ma fan of the altais also. For snowshoes I've had good luck with Northern Lites tundra model. 9.5 x 32 and 49 oz per pair.

    Kifaru Forums

Kifaru forums were awesome back in the day. Think I joined around 2001 or so when it was the old threaded format (for a lack of a better term). I spent alot of time on there until life got to busy with kids etc. Sad to see it go... And now rokslide is gonna ban guys from NY like...

    Zebra light

I'm sure it makes it a little more susceptable, but so far no issues for me. I suppose a zip lock would help here if need be.

    Zebra light

If you shut off the zebra by unscrewing the battery cap a little it won't turn on accidently on the hike in/out while in your pack.

    New sleeping bag????

Don't overlook a Woobie or Doobie from Kifaru. I use the Woobie above freezing and the Doobie down into the 20s.

    Bivy sack?

MO- I've never had any issue with water inside any of my Kifaru shelters. If you decide on a Paratipi, you will not need a bivy for anything other than unplanned nights away from the P-tipi. Even then I'd rather have my Supertarp.

    Bivy sack?

If your under a tarp or other shelter, I see no need for a bivy.

    Bivy sack?

I've never had the need for a bivy, especially in a heated shelter like the Paratipi.

    Kifaru Stoves

Nick- I've woke up a few times during the night and opened the stove to see nothing but black until I paw around in there with a stick. Usually that will bring up a few embers. This will sometimes be enough to get things going again if you have the right stuff laying next to the stove to toss in...
