I have a 10 year old daughter that loves to hunt, but with me. We have had the discussion about her shooting game, and even though she likes to shoot a .22 at the range, she does not want to harvest something on her own. This may change as she gets older, and she may want to harvest something...
I've worn Johnson, but for a lighter weight to layer underneath, the Korean war field pant at ~$40 is hard to beat. They are tough as nails, a bit itchy, but work well.
I ski in my stone glacier M7 jacket in the northeast, and it works great. However, like StopMakingSense said, hunting pants and ski pants do not mix, so get a dedicated ski bottom for sure.
If you are looking at Marmot, I would bump up the the minimalist jacket over the precip. I have it and its' pretty solid, and has pit zips to vent. Another option is the OR Foray jacket. The minimalist and foray are pretty similar with gore-tex, and a good rain hard shell.

I've always had leupold, but recently ended up buying my first Trijicon and got the 3-9 credo. It's just a little heavier than the VX3, but man, what a scope! The turrets are capped, but if you are dialing in a shot, you have time to spin them off, if needed. The green MOA reticle is great...
Brand new scope still in box, and all I did was take the plastic off. It's a Leupold VX3HD 3.5 - 10x40 CDS-ZL, and you will get the free CDS cap when you decide on a load. $410 TYD and price is firm. I have too many scopes.
I have the wind hoodie, but I'm done with softshells. If you want the one jacket with a bit of warmth, waterproof, some stretch , etc, buy the SG M7 and never look back. I ski with it, wear in cold rain, hunt, it is across the board the best jacket I've ever had.
Just use a dehumidifier in the muggy summer months, and a golden rod in the safe all year and you will be fine. I live on cape cod and it's humid as hell, and my safe is in the basement. Zero issues but the golden rod is key.
