Zip-off base layer bottoms. Firstlite vs Kuiu?

That makes sense. I don’t like tall boots so the boot top version were too short at times. It does seem odd that they don’t offer the kiln zip off in boot top version though. I’m not even sure why they still offer the non-zip off version. I can’t live without them now 😆

Zip-off base layer bottoms. Firstlite vs Kuiu?

I have an update. I ended up buying the First Lite Kiln zip offs and like them better than the Kuiu. The FL waist band is thinner, they fit tighter, are softer, and offer more stretch/movement. And just because the inseam is longer doesn’t mean you have to stuff them in your boots. Just fold...

Zip-off base layer bottoms. Firstlite vs Kuiu?

Has anyone tried both and can compare the two? In particular, I’m looking at firstlites Kiln zip off bottoms vs Kuiu’s merino 200’s. I’ve been pretty happy with the Kuiu merino zip-off base layers over the years, but the waistband is a little bulky and can bunch up under layers of pants and a...

    WTB Nikon Monarch HG 10x42

Hello all, I am looking for a pair of Nikon Monarch HG 10x42 binoculars. Please let me know if you have a pair that you want to sell or know where a guy can get a smoking deal on some new ones. Thanks!

Does Anyone NOT Take a Picture Anymore?

I am by myself 99% of the time and find taking pictures as an annoyance that takes me out of the moment and ruins the genuiness of it all. I will take a few pictures of my animal, but try to get it out of the way as quickly as possible so I can get back to the real task at hand. On the other...

    Camper vs Tent?

To the original poster, I think you have the right idea. If you go the canvas tent route, you won't have TOO much invested and could always resell those items and not be out much if you find it just doesn't work for you. Whatever you do, DO NOT get one of those silly rooftop tents that someone...

WTS Nikon Prostaff 3-9x40 Scope with DNZ Game Reaper rings for Ruger 10/22

Hey group, I have a very lightly used Nikon Prostaff 3-9x40 scope in a satin silver color. Goes good with stainless but also looks great on blued guns. Comes with DNZ Game Reaper 1-piece scope mount for a Ruger 10/22. Scope has very light mounting marks, but you can barley notice unless you are...

Choosing a scope - need advise

I have actually been leaning towards the meopta scopes now too. I have meopta 10x and 15x binoculars and feel very confident in their optics. Thanks

Choosing a scope - need advise

Thanks I'll look into that. Do they offer a similar scope in second focal plane? I'm not big on FFP scopes.

Scope Advise - Is this a good deal?

That’s pretty conservative. I’ve killed a coyote with a .22LR at 100 yards, dead right there, never took a step. Shot placement is king. I see what your saying though.

Scope Advise - Is this a good deal?

I meant in terms of accuracy. You can’t kill what you can’t hit. I’d say most opportunities are under 200, especially when calling, but I want some confidence to just send it if I see one out past 300-400.

Scope Advise - Is this a good deal?

This is interesting to me as well. I have no experience with red dots other than a little range time here and there. I'm questioning how effective it is a coyote hunting. Does the dot allow for precision shot placement? With no zoom, I wonder how effective it is at long ranges.

Scope Advise - Is this a good deal?

That SWFA SS 1-4x24 looks like a well rated scope. I see a lot of people using 1-4x or 1-6x on their AR's, but that seems more like a short range tactical application, no? The ol' standard hunting scope has always been a 3x9 and that is the smallest I have ever used. Not sure how I would like a...

Scope Advise - Is this a good deal?

400-500 yards max. Most of my shots are in the 50-200 yard range. I don't plan on doing any night hunting, but early mornings and dusk are obviously good times to hunt coyotes. I've never used an illuminated reticle, but can see where it would be useful at times. Leaning toward this option.
