    Non hunting brand backpacks

+1 for the Gregory Palisade 80 I used one for a season and was very impressed with the comfort and load hauling capabilities. Packed out camp along with 1/2 a sheep and it handled it pretty comfortably. That was ~100 lb load. Got rid of it for a KUIU pack since I was looking for more pockets to...

    2013 Elk Meatpole

My NM bull. Called him in to 20 yards opening morning of 3rd season. Shortest elk hunt ever, but it was a long day of packing meat since it was a solo hunt.

    Mule Deer success thread.

Here is my Colorado high country muley. Got in close for an 18 yard shot after a 3 hour stalk through the cliffs above his bed at 12,000ft. Can't wait to go back!

    Budget pack question?

Not the Whitney, but I used the Gregory Palisade 80 for a season. I believe it has the same frame and suspension as the Whitney, just a bit smaller. I was very impressed with that pack. Carried some very heavy loads of meat and camp out of the back country very comfortably. Got rid of it for a...

    Hell To Pay 2013

WOW, that is awesome! Great job on what looks like an incredible hunt. I may have to move, so I can chase those amazing critters some day...

    2013 KUIU ICON Reviews??

I have the 2012 KUIU Icon 5000 and really like it. I don't think there is much different about the 2013 besides a slight change to the frame and hip belt along with the bigger top lid that gives you the 5200. I picked up the 1st generation 6000 model as well, but I just couldn't get it to fit me...

    Best Kid Carrier?

Are you looking for a pack to carry your kid while you run? Not sure any will be comfortable for that.... Or am I misunderstanding what you're looking for? For hiking, I have the Osprey Poco Premium and it works great. Very comfortable to carry and my son seems to be comfortable in it for up to...

    Mountain Vehicle Toyota or Jeep

Both great mountain vehicles, but I will take a Yota any day. Any vehicle will break with too much skinny pedal in the wrong situation. I've had a pickup, two 4runners and a Tacoma. Actually think the 4runners are better all around mountain vehicles than the Tacoma. They have good interior space...

Average shot distance on bow killed high country bucks?

My 3 high country buck kills were at 10, 15, and 25 yds. In my experience, with a little patience you can get very close to high country bucks. Of course that doesn't always work....

    Leupold RX-800TBR Compact

I picked up the RX-800 TBR last year and am very happy with it so far. It came in handy with the buck I arrowed last fall. Gave me a reading of 25 yds at a 51 deg angle down the cliff I was on. Shot was right on, good chance I would have missed without it. I don't have much to compare it against...

    Colorado server busy

Just checked my credit card and all my pending transactions are now listed as posted transactions! It sounds like this happened to quite a few people, so I can't imagine they let all those attempts go thru?! I will have to call tomorrow and see how to get it fixed, don't want to cancel them...
