This is great! Do you find yourself glassing as much in the evenings from vantage point and/or run into trouble getting on their level if they are well below you before daylight runs out?

i like the thought of watching and listening then cutting off from above. Do you think there’s still a good sense of realism cruising the spine and throwing some advertising bugles out, or I would it be somewhat unrealistic for a Bull to be patrolling across a mountain top right at day break...

Can anyone give some helpful tips when hunting from an area where you mainly camp up high and hunt from the top-down? What are some good tips to keep from sending your early morning sent to the elk traveling up before thermals switch…or do you glass until they’ve switched and catch them from...

    BC Moose meat to US

Did this same thing but took it one step further… left some of my cheaper gear behind. Example took a warm but bulky sleeping bag (the bulk is what made it cheap) and left it behind for other hunters and tossed some of my cheaper clothing like sweatpants rather than UPS those. My hunting partner...

    Ideas to prevent belt slip

    Ideas to prevent belt slip

Wow that looks amazing.! Where is the foam from just a roll off Amazon? Did you have to add fabric to be able to make room for the bigger pads? And yea bruises are a norm and it’s unreal how much lighter my load feels on legs even if I walk with it lifted in proper position by holding it there...

    Ideas to prevent belt slip

Correct, stone glacier thanks for clarifying … designed for back curvature… I have watched fitment videos and am aware not to overdo it on the load lifters but have been trying all extremes now on to crazy diy stuff like adding something grippy to the back of pack … just seeing if there’s...

    Ideas to prevent belt slip

Yep definitely much better with the x-curve but still not great (not the frames fault) I’ll reach out to them and see if they have ideas … I’ve got the newer power straps and even if I tighten to the point of circulation cutoff it still slips eventually. I generally train with 80lbs when pack...

    Ideas to prevent belt slip

Hi, I have a curved upper spine (broke and fused in an area) and even though I’m a glutton for punishment there’s got to be some ways to reduce belt slippage and the unnecessary discomfort ? When I tighten load lifters it creates a fulcrum and pulls lower part of pack away from my Body … I...

    Buzzes and Bawls

Practicing elk calls for 23 . Think I’ve got a decent clean sound to bugle and cow calls.. But are there any tips on adding that extra rasp to the sound both bugle and cow? I struggle in this aspect….I’m starting to go through the elk nut app, but just how crucial is it to add the extra...

    Last minute MT app

only helps if this is the issue, but when logging in with your ALS…. It’s only 3 digits not the entire thing for the webpage purposes

    Might of made an mistake.

One of my moose was with a 30-06 and the other with 300 prc … results were similar both around 300 yards with neither dropping right away and me unloading my magazine into them and them dying shortly after . I shoot all copper 180 grains and will put it on the shoulder next time first shot, but...

    Never boiling whitetail skull again

No scraping, just sprayed with cold pressure washer .. but do agree you could soap, peroxide, or simmer if worried about skull grease … this particular buck went in the garage wall so no extra steps taken and looks good a month later albeit not pure white

    Never boiling whitetail skull again

Inside of nasal cavity looks good, no real difference from the old “boil and pluck “with pliers method. Underside, I just propped antlers facing down and for the tops and sides, I wrapped a wire around antler and fence post to keep it from getting blown away

    Never boiling whitetail skull again

Small break in front was from drag hook I throw through roof of mouth and out the nose. Not perfect but I couldn’t have been much more reckless with the 4200 psi pressure washer in the dark. Would take my time a bit more with a real trophy buck.
