    Plat maps?

That's awesome. When we are scouting for ducks and geese, we are using the paper maps, and the property can change hands three or four times between printings. Just makes it a lot easier. Thanks for the help guys.

    Plat maps?

I really need these for duck/goose hunting, but I know they will be helpful for my other hunts when I get to finally make it to the mountains, but I was looking at onXmaps for Android to get landowner info. Has anyone used this app or service for GE or any other program? If so, what are your...

    Compound Sold, Recurve Purchased!

I started with a compound four seasons ago as something to do between Sept. teal and Nov. big ducks. Last year, I switched to a Samick Sage, and I fell in love with traditional archery. There is something so simple about it. I don't have to take my heavy PSE wheel bow, 10 in stabilizer, release...

Pack weight training and training regime questions

I'm new to training with a pack in my prep training. I bought a Kelty Cache Hauler, and I have been carrying 50lbs plus the weight of the pack to train. We don't have anything but hills around here, and that is difficult access sometimes. But my question is this. What weight should I be training...

    Back on the forum

I had the time off this year. My district is a very small, country district. They appreciate the fact that I have to hunt. I had as much time off as I needed. Of course the vacation days would be used, but I can live with that. All I have to do is let them know a month or two in advance.

    Back on the forum

Will definitely keep you in mind. My group petered out on me, and I was a little apprehensive about who I'm going into the mountains with anyway. They seemed more in it for the enjoyment than for the hunt. Looking forward to next year though. I really do need the company.

    Back on the forum

After being away for several months, I thought I would post up after getting lots of great advice on the forum from a great group of guys. I was gearing up for my first elk hunt, and unfortunately, it will be over before it started. Due to several family situations that have come up over the...

    The downside of hunting alone

Sorry to hear about that. In all my zealousness to attack the mountain, I still know my limitations. We will never know what truly happened. Sad indeed. I will be bringing a sat phone.
