My winchester model 70 300 WSM came with a 24 inch barrel. I had it threaded back when I was in high school and have a brake on it. That is the most accurate rifle I've ever owned.
Mostly quality. Both shot just ok. But both rifles needed sent back to Bergara because of burrs in the chamber. And 1 still would get cartridges stuck and it was not pressure related I sold them both and swore off Bergara for good.
Mine all went together fine. Everything was tight and put together well. I see no issues at first glance. I went ahead and make some relief cuts on both end ( only 2 cuts per side on opposite sides). I used a jig saw with a metal blade. I then used a angle grinder and a file to clean up the cuts...
My 300 WSM loves 185 grain Berger Classic Hunters. It's a Winchester model 70 with a 1:10 twist. It shoots 1 ragged hole at 100. Never had any issues with that round. I've also killed a pile with eldx.
Personal preference mostly I guess. I have alot of components for 6.5 creed. It has a way better barrel life. I wouldn't get rid of my 6.5 for the 22. As I said I'd keep the 6.5 and .223 that would cover 99% of what I do.
